Todd
Carter begins his 21st year at Butler, fifth as Director
of Athletics. He spent 16 years as Butler's Head Athletic
Trainer. He received his undergraduate degree from South Dakota
State University and his graduate degree from Indiana St.
University. Carter spent the summer of 1987 working with the
Kansas City Chiefs at their training camp in Liberty, Mo.,
and the summer of 1992 with the Dallas Cowboys in Valley View,
Texas.
In 1993, Carter began his four-year journey with the Olympics.
He worked the '93 summer in Colorado Springs at the U.S. Olympic
Training Center and summer of '94 in St. Louis at the U.S.
Olympic Festival National Baseball Trials. During the summer
of '95 and '96, he was the athletic trainer for Team USA Baseball,
who captured the bronze medal at the Atlanta Olympic Games.
"TC" is married to the former Denise Meierhoff.
They have a daughter Callie, a son Camden and a daughter Carly.
Butler alum Matt Jacobs is in his second year as Assistant Athletic
Director. In that role, Jacobs handles media relations duties for all
of Butler's sports, while also having responsibilities in compliance,
fundraising, marketing and overall administration.
Jacobs has spent the past three years as a writer in the Marketing
Communications department at Butler. He also has nearly a decade of
experience as a journalist, working at both the Manhattan (Kan.)
Mercury and the El Dorado (Kan.) Times. Jacobs also worked for one year
in sports information at NCAA Division II Newman University.
Jacobs earned an associate's degree from Butler and completed
undergraduate work at Kansas State University and Friends University.
He is currently pursuing a master's in sport administration at Wichita
State University.
Jacobs and his wife, Marilyn, a Wichita physician, have three children, Madelyn, Maverick and Mia. They live in El Dorado.
